Originally released in 2013, the Air Jordan 4 “Fear” is one of the most layered and symbolic colorways in Jordan 4 history. Part of the “Fear Pack,” this iteration is inspired by an iconic quote from Michael Jordan:
"I'm scared of what I won't become, and you're scared of what I could become."
This quote forms the core of the design and story behind the shoe — exploring insecurity, inner strength and self-confidence.
The upper of the “Fear” consists of premium suede and nubuck in a mix of black, dark grey and anthracite , with smooth transitions between the panels. The white midsole with black speckles and the icy transparent outsole add extra drama to the design. Subtle red details, such as on the Air unit, provide an intense accent within the otherwise dark palette.
The classic Air-Sole unit provides comfortable cushioning, while the rugged rubber outsole offers reliable traction. In terms of structure and comfort, the silhouette stays true to the 1989 original, but it's the emotional charge that makes this release truly special.
